Old Mission Santa Ines Fiesta At Solvang This Weekend

The third annual Old Mission Santa Ines fiesta in Solvang marks two days of entertainment and food on Aug 17 and 18. Activities include a Mission-style chicken barbecue, tri tip sandwiches, booths with games, cantina foods, desserts, and performances by mariachi groups and dancers. Proceeds benefit the Mission restoration fund.

Hospitality House hosts LOVARC members at Ryan Park picnic

Hospitality House members hosted a summer picnic for LOVARC youths in Ryan Park featuring fried chicken ice cream and cakes. Anonymous donors provided autograph books and picture albums while a $25 piano fund donation was presented in honor of Helen Dryman a pianoist and LOVARC mother Corrine Christensen's mother.

Nuts, Bolts band has busy day

The Nuts and Bolts senior citizen band played three concerts in one day. They began at Valley of the Flowers Church entertaining nursery students, then at Bethany Lutheran Church for nutrition meal patrons, and finally at Lompoc District Hospital for long-term care patients.

Carla Rae Carrier and David LeRoy Dempsey wed in a 11 a.m. ceremony at United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kenneth Boyd officiating. A surprise bridal shower was held for Diana House, bride of Bob Taylor, with co hostesses Colleen Carter and Debbie Chapin. Missionette girls from First Assembly of God Church Lompoc returned from Hartland Camp with multiple prizes. Darsey Ayersman won a first place handcraft ribbon and Suzanna award while Lori Dean earned a third place for a decoupage picture.
