The Senate shifted from a pay freeze for Congress, the Cabinet, and the Judiciary to approving a raise under wage guidelines during price controls. Lompoc Man Arrested After High Speed 25 Mile Chase

Gilbert Correa 28 of 526 North L Street was booked in Santa Barbara County Jail after a high speed pursuit along Highway 101 reaching 100 mph. He faced assault with a deadly weapon and related charges after attempting to ram pursuing patrol cars.

Funeral Services Planned for Roberta Williams 58

Roberta Williams 58 died Tuesday at 1563 Calle Primera Mission Hills. Born May 9 1915 in Mount Airy Tennessee she moved to Lompoc 13 years ago and ran Roberta's Knit Shop from home. Survivors include husband Charles son John C Williams brother Lander Lamb sister Euna Williams and two grandchildren. Friends may call at McPeek Family Mortuary today until 8 p.m and Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Manhurt in fall from horse near Hollister Ranch

Noel Eldon Cowell 35, Hollister Ranch employee, fell from his horse and was trampled into a ravine. Listed in good condition at Lompoc Hospital with a fractured collarbone and cuts. Sheriff’s Search and Rescue extracted him by four wheel drive after concern he was in an inaccessible ravine.
