County Board Opposes Senate Bill On Air Pollution Powers
The Board of Supervisors voted to oppose SB 1556 which would move county air pollution control powers to a new South Coast Air Basin. County officials warned the measure could strip local land use authority and shift oversight of vehicular emissions. The alert from the California Supervisors Assn guided the vote, which could affect July 1, 1975 implementation.
