Local police bust mini drug factory and seize barbiturate stock
Three people Jimmy Dale Vincent 26 Carol Jean Vincent 22 and Lawrence Harley Craig 20 were arrested in a raid on a tract home. Officers seized six ounces of marijuana a large amount of barbiturate powder and equipment for capsule loading a marijuana growing hothouse and weapons. Bail set at 5000 for the Vincents and 1000 for Craig.

Ford orders veterans payments sped up and spending cut
President Ford instructed faster disbursement of 335.6 million to veterans to boost spending and asked Congress to cancel or defer 2.6 billion in other spending. Checks totaling 177.8 million will be mailed within 45 days and the rest funds premiums and new insurance, targeting WWI WWII and Korean veterans.
