The 26th Annual Clam Festival at Pismo Beach will drop the queen contest in favor of a King Neptune theme with a court of a jester and mermaids. The three day event, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, runs February 25 to 27.

California lawmakers sign broad laws on work weeks and consumer protections
