Santa Ynez rezoning plan headed for Feb hearings

A county plan calls for rezoning about 479000 acres from Buellton to the county line to protect agriculture in the Santa Ynez Valley. The EIR is certified and a public hearing is hoped for Feb 4 in Santa Barbara. The proposal affects land in Los Padres National Forest and upper valley with 5 to 40 acre and 20 to 100 acre changes. Agricultural zoning is shown to support tourism and not reduce valley income.
