Haywood to finish season with Seattle despite four-year rule

U S District Court Judge Warren Ferguson issued a preliminary injunction barring the NBA from enforcing the four-year rule against 21 year old Spencer Haywood. The ruling seeks to allow Haywood to complete the season with the Seattle SuperSonics while the antitrust suit proceeds. A March 2 trial is set to determine the validity of Haywood's contract with the Denver Rockets and whether misrepresentation voids it.

Maravich scores 41 in Hawks win over Buffalo

Pete Maravich exploded for 41 points as the Atlanta Hawks beat the Buffalo Braves 123 to 113. Walt Hazzard added 31 and Lou Hudson 22 for Atlanta while Bob Kauffman had 27 for Buffalo.
