Sheikh Mujibur Rahman relinquished the ceremonial presidency and took the oath as prime minister in Dacca, leading a parliamentary government amid postwar reconstruction. A crowd hailed the move as victory for Bangladesh.
Brian K. Fraser, 15, named Record Carrier Boy of the Year at a Grange Hall banquet honoring 15 outstanding youths. Fraser, son of MSgt. and Mrs Richard Fraser, turned in 226 subscribers with perfect payments and a 3.4 GPA, earning a $100 Savings Bond and trophy. Jimmy M. Walker, 13, runnerup, received a $50 Bond and trophy.
