Local Chess Clubs Host Weekly Sessions and Tournaments
The Lompoc Valley Chess Club meets Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to noon in the Community Building 217 W Maple Ave Lompoc. Santa Ynez Valley Chess Club meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall Solvang. Thirteen players compete in Lompoc’s first all member championship tournament with newcomers welcome tonight and rounds every Wednesday. Trophies go to top two finishers and to the best below 1200 in rating.
