Supervisors Seek State Welfare Hearing in Santa Barbara

The Board of Supervisors asked to host a state conducted hearing in Santa Barbara to discuss the county fiscal strain from a balanced state budget shifting welfare Medi Cal and mental health costs to local government. County Board Approves Funds for Santa Ynez Airport

County supervisors approve a 3150 transfer from the general fund to the aviation fund to speed a 10000 state grant for the Santa Ynez County Airport taxiway project. Public Works Director Norman Caldwell notes matching funds are required and airport aid from the state is 5000 per airport, to be used for aeronautical facilities.

Obituary of Roscoe Inglis Former Lompoc businessman dies at 71

Roscoe Inglis 71 longtime Lompoc resident and Inglis Brothers Trucking founder died yesterday in a Santa Barbara hospital. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ivy Lawn Cemetery Ventura with Dr. Thomas A. Nosworthy officiating. He was born December 27 1899 in Missouri and served in World War I. He moved to Santa Barbara in 1957 after living in Lompoc. Survived by his widow Jessie. Memorial gifts suggested to cancer foundation or charity of choice.

Growth support for new Lompoc economic group advances

The Lompoc Valley Economic Development Association reports 75 pledged members at a board meeting as it nears half of its potential roster. President Robert Kranig announced plans for a first general meeting on March 8 and a noon session at the Lions Inn with a space shuttle update, director recruitment status, and member participation. City hires sewer plant foreman in Lompoc

Dustin Griffin announced that Visalia official Bob L. Manry has been chosen as Lompoc sewer plant foreman. Manry will start March 6, holds a Grade 1 wastewater certificate, earns 758 dollars monthly, and has prior posts in Hanford and Visalia. He is 34, married with two children.
