Lompocans named to county off road committee

The Ventura County Board of Supervisors moved toward forming a county wide committee to locate an off road area for motorcyclists amid urban noise and trespass issues. Initial members include Dan Howater of Motorcycle City Lompoc William P. Czerwinski of Slo Pokes Cycle Club Lompoc and Keir Nash Santa Barbara. The board also approved 13 cent mileage for county employees and added an environmental specialist for the Office of Environmental Quality. They urged state lawmakers to require Medi Cal recipients to use nearby public facilities to cut county costs.

County to study redistricting after November vote

The County Redistricting Committee may be directed this year to study possible boundary changes in five supervisorial districts after letters from Solvang Businessmen's Assn Buellion and Santa Ynez Business Assn raised concerns of district population imbalance. County officials noted changes cannot occur before the November election and will use April state population figures to assess a balanced distribution around 55,100 per district.

County park projects bid on revenue sharing funds

Thirty three county park projects totaling 854 455 dollars are expected to go to contract before June 30. The list approved by administrator Raymond D. Doctor’s body found near Guadalupe after coast guard search
