Condemnation for Santa Ynez River park lands approved
Lompoc City Council adopted a condemnation resolution to acquire 13 parcels totaling about 300 acres for the river park project, at the request of the State Division of Highways which also plans to buy land for the Route 1 freeway. HUD has approved the project with half the cost funded by the federal government. The city may exit later but would owe costs incurred.

Council Approves Vehicle Purchases from Three Bidders
The council approved spending 100004.18 for 16 vehicles to be bought by Aug 1 from Beattie Motors Sunset Chevrolet and Pitman Manufacturing. Beattie supplied six police cars and 10-wheel dump trucks while Sunset supplied four pickups and a service truck and Pitman supplied one electric construction truck. The total exceeded budget by 2854.18 but funds were available due to recent savings.

City council considers giving traffic safety engineer sole power to approve loading zones starting with a passenger zone for the public library on E North Avenue.
