County to take over SY airport hangar from Hetrick

Santa Barbara County will assume possession of the hangar at Santa Ynez County Airport from pilot Morgan Hetrick. The leasehold, bought for 66,000 by Hetrick and reassigned to the county for 55,000, will now be owned by the county. Hetrick will pay 550 dollars monthly through October 29 and may bid on hangar rental afterward. jet aircraft and his aircraft-modifying work are involved.

Lompoc poll shows Stevens leading in city council race

A Vandenberg Junior High class project poll found Lompoc Mayor E. C. Stevens leading with 31 percent in the council race for March 5. It also notes concerns over a storm drain system and predicts a possible 70 percent turnout, though the sample size and methodology are limited.

Youth cleared of arson charges in Los Angeles

Michael Altenburger an 18 year old from Tucson was cleared of 25 murder counts and an arson charge in connection with the Stratford Hotel fire. Police and the district attorney’s office found he could not have started the blaze, and he spoke only briefly to reporters after the hearing.
