Whitmire builds round house as self supporting dream
Cabrillo High School geology teacher Whitmire and his wife Cathy plan a 10 acre corner lot home in Lompoc with a round design. The unfinished structure includes a large garden and fruit trees, two acres of flower seed crops, and plans for a self sufficient life with cows and steers for milk and beef. Construction began in December with friends volunteering Saturdays and a goal of about ten years to complete.
