District Maps Steps For 17 Million Budget Plan

School officials began review of the district's 17 million dollar budget for 1977-78 with a meeting of Irwin Wapner and Joe Carlin to discuss special education funding. The board approved a multi step calendar ending in final adoption on August 2 with key dates: February 11 23 March 11 22 April 1 18 25 and May 17. Seven of eight candidates attended the last session as the board reaffirmed its policy limiting school sponsored events.

Airline admits illegal campaign contributions to lawmakers

American Airlines disclosed to the SEC that it made illegal campaign gifts in 1971 and 1972 to dozens of congressmen including House Speaker Thomas P. O'Neill and Rep. Peter Rodino.
