Oregon restaurant fined for firing waiters over hot pants waitresses
Oregon labor officials ruled Captain's Table in Eugene violated fair employment laws by firing Ronald Young Ho to hire attractive waitresses. He was awarded 821.93 dollars for humiliation and lost wages. The ruling cited that cosmetic effects did not justify termination.

Commission extends sand mining hearing at Guadalupe Dunes
The County Planning Commission continued Gordon Sand Co's request for a new conditional use permit to mine sand at the Guadalupe Dunes to March 21 to allow time for an environmental impact report. The 60 day emergency permit expires March 23. The panel also set March 28 for Valley Answering Service hearing and approved map waivers and tentative maps for local developments including Tepusquet and Orcutt sites, with plans for 24 large lots, 16 ten acre lots, and a 156 acre lot. Del Cielo Mobile Home Estates hearing set for March 7 includes a trailer park project, a General Plan amendment and rezoning to permit 35 units.
