County planners approve variance for substandard Lincoln St lot
The County Planning Commission unanimously approved a variance at 1165 Lincoln St Santa Ynez allowing a slightly substandard lot split for residential use. Lavawn Tomkins purchased the south half of a 13 200 square foot property from Harold and Myrtle Buell last November. The deed revealed the split violated minimum frontage and corner lot area by less than 15 feet, but commissioners noted historical standards and said the case does not set a precedent. Houses exist on both parcels and were built before county permits. the Tomkins dwelling uses a septic system.
