Shell workers reach tentative agreement at California refineries
Refinery workers with the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union tentatively accepted Shell Oil Company proposals on Saturday and sent the contract to the union’s Denver headquarters for approval. The deal, to be voted by Wilmington and Martinez locals this week, includes a pay raise with a 4 percent hike planned for July and an 8 percent increase next January. Local 1-128 leader William Broughton said the terms mirror those approved at six Los Angeles refineries, with an immediate 12 percent provision in the contract.
