A head on collision on Cathedral Oaks Road near Tucker's Grove left one driver dead and another with minor injuries. The deceased is a Santa Barbara resident. identity withheld pending kin notification. In a second crash on Highway 101 near Highway 1, Andrea L Limbrick 21 of Berkeley was treated for facial cuts and possible neck injury. passenger Velma Limbrick 22 had a possible back injury.

Rain Relief After Drought Hits Lompoc Valley

Lompoc Valley received an additional .52 inch of rain since Thursday morning easing drought worries for lawns and farms. Forecasts show continued precipitation through Saturday with clearing later. Snowfall at Sierra resorts offered some relief for ski operations, while central valley agriculture remained in danger without heavy mountain snow.
