Vandenberg clubs finish junior Red Cross box project
Members of the Vandenberg Junior High Discovery Club completed their Junior Red Cross boxes filled with toothbrushes toothpaste soap Kleenex small toys pencils notebooks gum and Life Savers. Boxes go to the American Red Cross to aid children affected by disasters abroad.

Pinewood Derby winners named at Pack 66 event
Cub Scout Pack 66 hosted its annual Pinewood Derby at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Eddie Casarez won the eight year old division with Michael Spainhower and Darrell Daeges placing second and third among other participants including David Bickmore and Robert Ferrar.

Grants approve elder services across Tri-County region
The Tri-County Commission for Senior Citizens Area Agency on Aging awarded twelve one year grants totaling 113,984 to fund elder direct services in San Luis Obispo Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. Grants support transportation day care medical social services and home repairs with final contracts due by January.
