County employees dispute a columnist’s claim that a telephone crew staged a catcall hoax above the fourth floor ceiling of the County Administration Building. They recall hearing meows, doubt the prank, and suggest noise from building equipment or air ducts but offer no conclusive explanation.
Allan Hancock College will offer placement tests for new credit course enrollees on January 10 at 9 a.m. in Lompoc Center room 24 and January 21 at 6 45 p.m. in room 13. Tests determine admission to courses with certain requirements. reservations are by calling 735-1880. Classes begin the week of February 2.
SAMTEC announced its fourth quarter 1975 awards at Vandenberg AFB naming Airman First Class Keith R. Buck as the first term airman. TSgt Paul F.E. Cooper and Master Sergeant Marsen V. Gonnerman were named career and senior NCOs of the quarter respectively, both in SAMTEC's directorate of procurement and support. Navy recruit Frank R. Feliz completed recruit training at the San Diego Naval Training Center.
Lompoc city attorney Alan Davidson is authorized to attend a self insurance and risk management conference in San Diego January 8 to 10 with tuition set at 250. Council also approves representation at a Labor Relations Institute January 21 to 23 in Los Angeles and supports $90,000 state funds over three years for Rainbow Plaza senior care facility staffing. Bids for South H and I street sidewalk improvements slated to open February 10 with award February 17.
