Alessio family and ex-prison officials plead innocent in bribery case
Five defendants including Dominic Bud Alessio and uncle Tony Alessio plus ex Lompoc officials Anthony Santiago and Daniel Morgan pleaded not guilty to bribery and conspiracy. Indictments accuse John and Angelo Alessio of offering bribes for trips, sexual favors, and unauthorized absences at Lompoc and related conduct. Bond set, venue may move to Los Angeles. A staff committee has recommended a priority list for school closings to Supt. Glen Wegner as enrollment declines. Names were not disclosed though sources linked El Camino Miguelito and La Canada.
