Decision postponed on bike acreage near Santa Barbara

More than 20 motorcyclists packed the County Planning Commission meeting in Santa Barbara as Harry Ernest urged use of county land in Cebeda Canyon for riding. A final decision was postponed to January 13 as officials study title status, erosion concerns, and possible use changes with the federal government.

In the Lompoc Cabrillo tourney Santa Paula defeated Cabrillo JV 70 46 as twelve players scored with Rudy Torres 14 and Albert Brover plus Ken Wilkinson 13 each. Hart beat Santa Clara 61 57 with Dick Skophammer 22 and Paul Meade 21. Dos Pueblos edged Channel Islands 66 60 behind Bruce Coldren 26 after a 58 32 lead faded. Santa Paula and Hart meet tonight for third place, Dos Pueblos in title game at 9.
