Group warns U.S. faces anarchy over civil disobedience
A narrow majority of the National Violence Commission warned that civil disobedience on Civil Rights era scales could trigger national anarchy. The majority urged testing laws via small groups or individuals while others obey until challenged as unconstitutional. The minority, including the panel’s two Black members, disputed that nonviolent disobedience could test law.
