Lompoc Sr Citizens Club organizes a bus trip to the Rose Parade in Pasadena on New Year’s Day. Fare includes reserved seating and breakfast options. Reservations via Sara J. Neish or Jim Kirkland, with a deadline after the December meeting in City Hall Auditorium.
The Santa Barbara County Interbranch Council of AAUW will assemble at chairman Carol Nash’s home in Lompoc Vandenberg tomorrow at 9 30 a.m. The council formed about a year ago by four county branches to address county wide concerns.
Mrs. C A Lavinia Stillman shared details from a six week England visit to Red Cross hospital volunteers meeting. She highlighted sites in Warwickshire and London including Pipewell Cottage a National Trust Home, St Ledgers Church, Shakespeare’s home, Sulgrave Manor and the Gunpowder Plot house. The talk featured color snapshots and humor about travel and underheated homes.
Wendy Romain of Lompoc High School earns the 1972 73 DAR Good Citizen award. The recognition honors dependability leadership and patriotism among seniors with campus and community involvement including student council service clubs choir and 4 H activities.
Rebecca Kent and Kenneth Purdy Smith wed in a November 25 ceremony at United Church Vandenberg Village officiated by Rev. Richard E. Harris. The bride, a 1970 Blountstown High School graduate, and the groom, a 1971 Maple High School graduate now in the Marines, were celebrated at Johns Manville Clubhouse with family and friends.
Safety was the educational subject for the November meeting of Credit Women International of Lompoc. Pat Brooks spoke. Phyllis Anderson presided at the dinner. Mrs. Anderson, Pamela Sesto, Emma Hilderbrand and Marguerite Caldwell shared experiences from the San Mateo workshop November 10 to 12.
The Bi- Counties Bird Club holds its annual Christmas party after the monthly meeting this Friday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Grover City Women's Clubhouse at Kith and Saratoga. Refreshments and a gift exchange are planned. visitors welcome with no admission charge.
Major and Mrs. Arthur J. Roth announce the betrothal of their daughter Louise to Charles Joseph Graham of Salina Kansas. The couple plan a March 25 1973 wedding at Temple Beth El Santa Maria and Louise is a Meadowdale High School graduate who studied at Allan Hancock College and the University of New Mexico.
