FBI probes Santa Barbara housing agency over audit discrepancies

Santa Barbara County housing chief Fred W Money was suspended as the FBI opened a probe tied to a routine audit covering 1975 and 1976. Lompoc Man Stabbed to Death in West Hickory Fight

Anthony Frank Ortega, 22, was killed and his friend Lewis Elmer Gross, 19, wounded in a confrontation that drew three armed suspects. Ortega died of massive hemorrhaging after attempts to hospitalize him failed. Gross was treated and released. Police sought three suspects described as two men about 5'8" tall with brown hair in brown clothing and a third with unknown details, believed driving a blue lowrider Chevrolet. Witnesses recalled a gathering at 407 W Hickory Ave and a confrontation that moved west toward Hickory Avenue. Police blocked streets and searched the area for a weapon. no weapon found.
