Higher meat prices loom from Midwest drought blow to crops

Thundershowers, twisters hit Iowa Texas and Illinois

Five indicted on hearing aid fraud scheme

Five people including Dr Emilio Marquez and Sanford Gertz were indicted by a Los Angeles county grand jury for selling up to a million dollars worth of hearing aids to elderly convalescent home patients and billing the state for unnecessary examinations and services. The probe covered four homes in Montebello Monterey Park West Covina and Glendora with more than 13000 collected in 1973 and Cal Med care losses pegged near one million dollars.
