Lompoc Babe Ruth All-Stars cruise past Sierra Vista 5-0 in regional
Lompoc's 15 year old Babe Ruth All-Stars remain unbeaten in the Pacific Northwest Regional after a 5-0 shutout of Sierra Vista Arizona. Ian McKeown pitched his second straight shutout, allowing seven hits and eight strikeouts as Lompoc takes a commanding lead in the double elimination setup and eyes a World Series berth in Abbeville Louisiana. Rick Beltran and Mike Brockett each delivered run producing hits while Brockett added two singles and McKeown drove in a run. Lompoc will rest today and play Saturday first game at 7 p.m. broadcast on KNEZ as they chase one win for two chances against the loser's bracket champ.
