Lompoc's Terry Williams will be feted at a civic luncheon hosted by the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce at Lions Inn. The 18 year old track standout recently returned from Europe having won 5,000 meter races in West Germany and Poland and a 10,000 meter race in Odessa as a member of the U S national junior track team.
Senate Watergate hearings revealed notes by H. R. Haldeman written as good and great regarding violent and obscene demonstrations expected when Nixon and Billy Graham spoke in Charlotte in October 1971. Sen Lowell P. Weicker presented the memo as evidence the White House welcomed anti Nixon protests to provoke backlash. A second memo from Haldeman to John W. Dean III dated February 10, 1973 was also shown.

A Lompoc area witness was expected to testify as the sixth day of a Superior Court trial over an east Lompoc freeway moved forward. BE Beverly Smith of Vandenberg Village testified as the state presents its case supporting an 8.7 million 5.5 mile project. The trial covers environmental concerns raised by opponents and the project’s long development since 1960 with bids opened and funds allocated before newer environmental laws.
Representative Robert F. Drinan a Jesuit priest from Massachusetts introduced a resolution calling for President Nixon to be impeached under Article 2 Section 4. He cited disclosures including a secret air war in Cambodia and alleged White House abuses while noting House support varies.
A 17 year old woman, Vickie Adcock of 51942 North K Street, sustained minor bruises after the family car rolled over on Santa Lucia Canyon Road when a front car allegedly forced a swerve. Her husband James Adcock, 23, was uninjured. The crash occurred about 4 30 p m. at the Lompoc Casmalia Road approach. Other accidents on Pine Avenue and H Street involved Jerome Emry 22 and Johanna Johnson 22 with minor injuries to DeBolt 17 at 7 54 p m.
