Reinecke says Kennedy would gain from prosecution

Cranston slams Nixon plan to win Senate support

Sen. Alan Cranston declares any Nixon tactic to line up 34 conservative votes would insult the Senate and conservatives while obliquely predicting impeachment votes would be based on evidence, not ideology. Reagan warns state employees on possible strike

Gov. Ronald Reagan warned state employees they risk their jobs if they strike following the California State Employees Association noting strike action under consideration. He said public employees have no right to strike and urged against it. The association backs higher raises, citing the Personnel Board's recommended increases of $45 million for 1974-75 versus the union demand of $100 million.
