Filtration Law May Change Valley Irrigation Plans
California legislation requiring filtration of Lake Cachuma water could transform irrigation in the Santa Ynez Valley. Officials warn costly filtration may raise farming costs, push land to dry farming or subdivision, and threaten the valley's rural character. Trustees call for further study with state deadline 1978. A separate note announces Old Mission Santa Ines Altar Society Game Night after 7:30 p.m. mass to raise funds.
