Reds Attack Bien Hoa Air Base Shifted South Vietnam Tactics
Communist artillery grounded South Vietnam’s fighter bomber fleet at Bien Hoa 14 miles northwest of Saigon. The 130 mm barrage cratered the F5 runway forcing jets off the tarmac. Bien Hoa housed most of the jet attack squadrons and was hit by mortars and bomb dumps. Explosions shook downtown Saigon two hours later.

Two Lompoc Teens Die In Highway 1 Crash
Two Lompoc High School girls died when their car overturned on Highway 1 north of Rucker Road. Driver Janice Foster 18 died at Lompoc Hospital. Tammy Carr 17 died minutes later. A 21-year-old male passenger John Bedore had minor injuries. The 1972 foreign car left the road on Harris Grade, skidded, then overturned. Funeral services were planned for Foster and Carr.
