Orcutt housing plan risks odors from oil facilities
Sixty two proposed residential sites in Orcutt face possible odors from nearby oil facilities, a county OEQ review heard. John English of the Air Pollution Control District cited stricter petroleum ordinances as improving air quality monitoring. Transportation officials urged a second access route to Karnes Road to ease traffic, noting the current Oak Knolls Road entry. Applicants are Leon Tilburg and John Robert. OEQ also found complete environmental findings for Kenneth Murphy's conditional permit to run an upholstery shop on Orcutt frontage road opposite Evergreen Shopping Center.
