The Indiana Senate on December 14 1837 discussed a change of venue for Joshua Offing of Monroe charged with his wife’s murder. Debate favored Vigo county or adjacent counties to Monroe with witnesses unable to attend far courts. The bill was recommitted with Putnam county as the fixed venue.
