Who Was at the Muzzle A Deadly Gun Case Heads To Court
In a dispute at Seventeenth and Erie streets near the Eighteenth street bridge two men claim ownership of a pistol used in a confrontation yesterday. Nick Calandra and Lewis Fettig each deny owning the revolver and say the other man tried to shoot him. Both will testify before Judge Smith to determine rightful ownership and responsibility. Fettig and his brother Joe corroborate that Calandra attacked Fettig first, Calandra counters that Fettig began the assault. The incident occurred around seven o’clock as Calandra accused Fettig of consorting with his wife and Calandra drew the weapon before control was taken. Calandra claims the gun does not belong to him. Fettig contends it is not his property.
