Cass County surpasses its loan campaign quota set at 1 275 000 dollars with strong support from returning soldiers and bond buyers. Chairman Fansler reports positive momentum to the state chairman as bonds continue to be sold and a monument map marks Cass County White today.
Cass county raised its Victory Loan quota under Attorney M. L. Fansler and will join the Welcome Home parade in Indianapolis today. More than 500 Cass county residents are traveling by auto and special interurban schedules serve the crowds.
At Versailles preparations are complete for the formal presentation of the Allied verdict on the price Germany must pay for starting the great war.
Archangel May 5 report says the first allied river flotilla reached the fighting front near the Vaga and Dvina junction last night. Bolshhevik shells hit allied positions on the Vega yesterday afternoon while other front sections were quiet.
The Seventh federal reserve district victory loan subscriptions reached 525.6 million dollars against 652.5 million quota with a daily gain of 16.96 million. One hundred fifty commissioned officers of the American Expeditionary Force in Siberia arrive in San Francisco on an army transport. The passenger list includes numerous soldiers who served in Siberia, marking the largest contingent to return from that front.
A Versailles dispatch says Ministers Landberg and Giesberts will return to Berlin to handle urgent state business if Paris does not give a definite reply by five o clock. The delay is blamed on French claims that German delegates lack full credentials. The Vossische Zeitung asserts delegates are properly authorized to act under German constitutive law.
Paris May 6 The plenary conference completed its work today for Germany as terms of peace were communicated in a secret session. All powers represented heard the terms, marking the last act before continuation on page two.
