Frank Farrington cites living costs rising 110 to 178 percent since 1914 and miners’ wages growing only from 700 to 1390 in 1918 to justify a 60 percent wage rise and a 30 hour week. Two Americans were killed and three wounded in a clash with an armored train of General Semenoff in Trans-Baikalia. The Americans reportedly captured the train but details are unavailable. Albany N Y Jan 14 The assembly judiciary committee set rules for the trial next Tuesday of five socialist assemblymen suspended at the start of the session. A plan to rescind the action and readmit the quintet is aimed for Monday night. Assemblyman William C Amos Republican New York said he would introduce proceedings to restore the suspended members on the eve of the first public hearing. A motion to reconsider is also reported.
