Purse Snatching Attempt On Market Street Fails
Last night at about 9 30 an unknown man attempted to hold up Mrs Maroney at Broadway between 8th and 9th but the move failed as she screamed and several men assisted. The would be thief fled down an alley leaving little money in the purse. Mrs Maroney could not identify the attacker and police have little to work on.

Remains of James Kern will be buried in Pensacola Florida where he died. Relatives reached the decision yesterday. His son arrived from St Louis to settle the estate and return to his post. Henry Brookmeyer Sr a longtime Logansport resident born in Heimsen Germany died at 81 after eight weeks with bronchial pneumonia. He emigrated in 1849 and built a wagon shop and later a grocery business at 416 Third Street. Survived by wife and four children the funeral is at German Lutheran church with interment at Mt Hope.
