From El Paso tonight a well informed source says the Carranza government has sent one million pesos in gold to Japan for war supplies. A first shipment has arrived and a second is due, including artillery shells and field guns with anti aircraft capability. Two new cartridge factories, each 75,000 rounds daily, are said to be equipped with American machinery routed via Spain to Mexico through Vera Cruz.
