Fireman Michael Morarity of Broad Ripple acted quickly taking control of the engine and Edwards was rushed to a Marion hospital where he died less than an hour after the attack. Edwards left for the trip from here with his family notified and funeral arrangements to be announced. He leaves a widow and two daughters Helen and Dorothy. He had served eighteen years with the Pennsylvania Railroad.
