Loganport Club to Hire Engineers for Electric Plant Study

The Logansport Commercial Club will hire J. J. Sommers Engineering of Chicago to study electric light plant possibilities at an estimated cost of 560 dollars. The club will raise 300 dollars and seek 200 dollars from the city, else funds via subscription. The report would aid city education and lower power rates. The club also discussed a new city government plan to reduce politics in administration and announced plans to host Charles W. Fairbanks and Governor Marshall.

County Medical Society contract renewal rejected

Cass County Commissioners refused renewal of the annual medical aid contract with the Cass County Medical Society. They deemed the service unsatisfactory and plan to award a single physician the contract after a December 23 meeting to settle year end business and bids. The county previously paid 300 dollars for care of all dependents, with the society objects to accepting non county institution dependents.

Darrow Collected At Least 50000 for McNamara Defense

Frank B. Morrison of the American Federation of Labor testified that Clarence Darrow received no less than $50,000 for defending the McNamara brothers in Los Angeles.
