Two Panhandle railroad wrecks occurred yesterday between this city and Chicago. Freight No. 73 derailed six cars at Boone after a tow broke apart. no injuries. Passenger No. 106 collided with a freight leaving Kouts, derailing engine and baggage car with bruised crew, no serious injuries. A new No. 6 schedule to Nos. 100 and 106 had just gone into effect, causing the crash as No. 106 hit the advancing freight. Wreck crew worked over twelve hours to clear the line.

Deaf Man Struck By Street Car On Fulton Street
John Douglass a deaf huckster living on Johnson Street was struck on the Fulton street hill by an L R and N Traction car as he and Jim Maginnis walked home from town. Douglass was knocked unconscious with head wounds and sprains while Maginnis tried to warn them with a ear trumpet. Movements were halted after the impact and doctors attended, noting no broken bones but possible internal injuries.
