Kokomo baseball player Leo Smith seriously hurt in collision
Leo Smith third baseman for the Kokomo team in the Northern Indiana league was struck in the stomach by a Marion player during a Kokomo game. He collapsed, was taken to Merchants' hotel by ambulance, and later showed signs of improvement while his ankle remained sprained. His brother Joe stayed with him overnight. Hugs Monkey as a "Doggie" at White Lot

Death of Dr. Joseph B. Keinly at Denver Banquet
Dr. Joseph B. Keinly, a well known Colorado physician born in Indiana and raised in this city, died suddenly at a Denver banquet. His wife and two daughters were present. He had studied in Chicago and Denver and was dean of the Physicians and Surgeons school and affiliated with Westminster College. He is survived by his widow, two daughters Margaret and Josephine, two brothers Frank and John, and a sister Mrs. James H. Foley.

Henry Taylor, temperance advocate, says he paid $4.51 to a man claiming to be a government whisky inspector named Jones. He alleges the inspector demanded the fee to drop charges for selling whisky without a license and seeks to locate the man in Indianapolis. Taylor suspects an impostor and recalls obtaining four quarts from Dayton mail-order for $3.20, sharing two quarts with friends.
