A Logansport woman, Elmer Ingram's patient, was bitten on the toe by a six inch bull snake While the family treated her with whiskey the bite was later examined by a local physician The snake was found buried in the garden and identified as a house snake The patient was cauterized and recovering with the bite attributed to a venomous reptile incident echoing rural health lore of the era
Delegates to be chosen by primaries on June 12 with one delegate per ten votes for John W. Kern. Township officers to be nominated at township primaries except Eel where chosen by delegate convention June 18. Primaries for delegates to state and joint conventions on May 25. congressional May 29. state June 7.
Foster and Dannington formerly ran a music store in the Stettiner building. They sold to John Goben, but Lindley of Danville attached stock for a 7000 dollar debt. The matter settled out of court. Lindley sold to Joseph Ogden of Urbana who plans a sale. Foster, now Ramsey house owner in Crawfordsville, visited Logansport for talks with Ogden.
Fritz Heppe leads a Panhandle shop party to Banta's springs near Georgetown where a brown jug with whisky was snagged on a fishing line. The jug, sealed and smelling of Old Crow, was opened and shared among the party. Locals expect crowds and a hotel to rise around the riverfront as fishing season attracts visitors.
George M. Cheney formerly city civil engineer of Logansport now of Indianapolis has been granted a patent for a concrete bridge reinforcement described as a valuable discovery. He is a practical civil engineer and bridge construction expert likely to apply the invention in his work and commercially.
Edgar E. Perkins of Indianapolis president of the state Federation of Labor stayed at the Murdock last night and left this morning for Wabash to try to settle a quarrel between the Hatters' union and a local hat maker.
Richmond P. Hobson cancelled his August appearance as he seeks a Alabama congressional seat. The Loganport Chautauqua fills the slot with Sam I. Jones, a famed preacher and lecturer, commanding a higher fee but drawing large crowds and strong praise from attendees.
Mrs Frank Wall of this city a member of the executive board of the Indiana King's Daughters and Sons departs tonight for Wheeling West Virginia where she goes as a state delegate to the international conference beginning Tuesday and continuing through June 25 Miss Rose Sarrington of Terre Haute state secretary for Indiana will join her to represent the state in the international body The Logansport circles of the order view her selection as a distinct honor to the community.
Logansport Christian Templars leaders seek to join Indiana Y M C A as a junior branch. Superintendent C M Cordell travels to Peru to meet State Secretary E E Stacy to discuss the plan. If denied, an independent Junior Y M C A will be formed. Meetings to be held Sundays all summer.

John M. Johnston declines the consul appointment to Annaberg Germany citing inability to speak German as the chief reason. The decision follows pressures from Congressman Fred Landis and prompts questions whether Ed McConnell will relinquish his post office berth or be reassigned to Annaberg.

In circuit court the will of Ann Cardill is admitted to probate. Nieces and a nephew receive 206 each: Sarah Conners Mary Donnelly Catherine Miller Mary Lynch and John McGinney. A further niece gets 5 with prior advances. Father Kroeger is left 3500 for his use and remaining estate after bequests goes to him to fund part of a new church at St Bridget's site.
