Tragic Car Crash Ends Life of Real Estate Young Man
Maurice J. Winfield Jr. 38, a prominent city real estate dealer, died instantly when his Buick runabout left the Michigan pike five miles north of the city and crashed into a fence. His companion D F Martin survived with two broken ribs and severe bruises. The accident occurred on a moonlit night as they returned from a farm visit. Winfield leaves a widow and three children. Memorials and a local funeral plan followed, with investigators noting a possible tire or wheel failure.
