Death Rates See Varied City Rates in Indiana March
The state board of health monthly bulletin reports Logansport had 26 deaths in March with a rate of 37.1 per 1000. Elkhart Penu Vincennes M avon and New Albany posted higher rates among cities of 10 000 to 25 000. County death rate was 34.2 with Covington 2342 population recording nine deaths for a 45 rate.

Engine Crushed Trainman Dies After Accident
J. W. Rush a Vandalia brakeman from New Market died after being thrown from a switch engine at Crawfordsville. He was brought to Culver Union hospital, where doctors amputated his legs but he died on the operating table. Rush had recently moved from Logansport to Crawfordsville to work on the shifting engine.
