Sam Smith, traveling from the city to his Kenneth shack, was attacked by three men who struck him with a sandbag and rifled his clothing but found nothing of value. He crawled to a house then alerted police, who lack descriptions and suspect circus次-craft activity. no arrest made.
The marriage of J. H. Reitemeier and Anna A. Brown took place today at St. Thomas church in Zanesville. Reitemeier, a prominent Logansport businessman and former second ward councilman, and Brown come from well known local families. The couple will tour for a long wedding trip to Columbus, Indianapolis, Greensburg, Atlanta, Savannah, and Florida, possibly Cuba, returning by June 1. Home cards are dated September 23, 1905.
Rev W C Forbes of Portland Ore arrives in Luciana for a family visit with sister Mrs Harvey Wilson at 416 Eighteenth Street. He attends the Presbyterian general assembly at Winona Lake and may lecture at First Presbyterian on Sunday School work on the Pacific Coast.
Mr and Mrs Beverly Bussert return to Rochester after spending yesterday with Mr and Mrs Hanson Mailer Sycamore street.
The R Y M C A plans an endless circulating library for seventy Panhandle telegraph offices centered in Logansport. Magazines and papers move from the Logansport office to each division office and onward to the next, returning to the start after completion. The scheme aims to connect operators and train crews with reading matter.
Arthur Ditmore fifteen year old runaway from Menominee Wisconsin is arrested in Logansport on vagrancy charges. Police find two watches on him a ladies and a gentleman's watch of value. He admits stealing a gold watch in Belgium Wisconsin and will be taken to Winamac for trial.
After initiation of a large class of candidates Saturday evening May 14, Woodfield council No 106 Knights and Ladies of Columbus will serve a banquet. A fine time is assured and every member urged to be present. All Sir Knights and ladies visiting the city are invited.
County Superintendent Haas submitted reports showing Cass County with a gain of 49 while Miami and Howard Counties incur deficits. The figures reflect county school enrollments and tax support as published in the afternoon briefing.

Boss Ferguson won the North Side school building contract for 11 610 dollars in Organport amid five bidders. Other bids ranged from 11 666 to 13 874 with Bear at 12 668 50. Ferguson’s bid used pressed brick while others proposed plain brick.
Rochester Ind May 10 The subsidy election for the Logansport to South Bend traction line is challenged as ballots were not overseen by election commissioners. County Clerk William Wright and County Auditor K W Shore dispute responsibility for printing and delivery of ballots. Despite confusion, large majorities favored the appropriation.
Officials from the Logalsport division and General Superintendent R. E. McCarty discussed spring passenger time schedules effective May 21. Plans include several new trains, faster running times, and adding specialized sleeping cars on through express trains. Twenty cars will run between New York and Cincinnati with sixteenthner features. Twelve new postal cars will improve mail handling on through routes. Overall equipment upgrades total about 3 million dollars, with over half a million for the new sleeping cars.
Miss Katherine Dewhs badly scalded at the Kuhlman bakery on Market street is improving rapidly and will soon be well.

Dan Toland was arrested last night for intoxication and arraigned this morning. He was ordered held to jail for eleven days pending further proceedings.

About twenty five Lafayette youths sought work in Chicago as strike breakers. Employers posted bills offering 5 to 10 dollars daily plus free transport and meals to drive express company teams. After five days some returned injured, saying they were paid seven dollars daily with lodging. One veteran compared risks to Spanish bullets over brick and bottle danger.

Mr Lowell Taylor formerly of Wolcott and Miss Stella V Carson of Dodge City Kansas were married in Dodge City on Wednesday May They then traveled to Wolcott to visit relatives after the ceremony in Dodge City.
Theo Tolley, confined two months with rheumatism, is able to be out again. Neighbors note gradual improvement and plan to monitor health as he resumes daily activities.
