Gay Lothario jailed after string of forged notes and scam

Chester Wescott once courted Columbus society, drawn to Amy Lewellen and a planned marriage to a rich heiress. He forged two checks totaling 20 dollars, traveled between Center and Kokomo posing as a concrete roofing rep, and was apprehended in Columbus by police. Officers recovered postcards to numerous young women.

Revival at Indiana reformatory nets 211 conversions

A two week revival at the Indiana Reformatory in Jeffersonville led by Rev. W. G. Clinton Rev. C. A. Bennett and chaplain W. E. Fagin closed with 211 inmates professing conversion. Total conversions since last year reach 410 making Indiana possibly first to run regular revival inside a prison. Attendance was voluntary and inmates plus staff and choir provided the music.

The couple had married after earlier disputes involving kidnapping allegations.
