The Daily Reporter urges Logansport and Cass county voters to reject boycotts and bitterness and decide the temperance question at the polls. It calls for calm, urges individuals to vote April 6, and to accept the majority decision.
The final payment on the electric plant machinery was made this morning to Westinghouse Electric Co., canceling a debt of 1,915.20 from a total contract price over 27,000. Petitions by Mae H. Hunt to extend Thirteen Street mains and by J. W. and A. M. Snell to extend Humphreys Street were granted. The water works collected 2,585.74 and the electric light dept 1,837.36 last week.

Residents of Jefferson and Boone townships circulate a petition seeking a six mile road along the township line. Commissioners likely to act on the petition at the April session.
Royal Centre Indiana March 25 two youths Charley Kramer and Homer George were fined before Justice Winslow for riding trains with a warrant out for the arrest of another boy. Detective Strahle caught them in the act and warnings were given that more arrests would follow if the practice continues. The article also notes the high school orchestra buying new music for upcoming commencement and local community notices.
Vandalia passenger engineer Arthur H. Holton of 300 West Broadway was injured at 4 30 this morning in the South Bend yards while stepping onto a wet engine. He struck his head and leg, was taken to his home by cab, and doctors said the injuries are serious with no bones broken and several weeks before usage of the limb. Claude C. Briggs, extra Vandalia engineer, took his run to South Bend and brought No. 41 to Vandalia.
Former city resident L. F. Loree is reported to be chosen by E. H. Harriman as successor to lead the Union Pacific railroad. The probability of Loree becoming president is discussed among industry observers.
Arthur L. Boyer a 38 year old Chicago harness and trunk dealer, visiting his fiancée Miss Agnes O Connor at 214 Berkley street, vanished after a violent episode following medical treatment for hemorrhages. A brown hat found on the river bank and frantic search efforts continue as police drag the Wabash River.
In Loganport two men clashed beside the interurban station when George M Harris known as Snake struck Will Rosier after a dispute triggered by a Sunday school remark about Harris nephew Alfred Anderson and his uncles alleged lo har business Rosier denied further dialogue and walked away as the fight ended with Rosier cigar knocked aside and hat displaced.
Temperance forces win in Ohio county by a narrow 32 vote margin amid rain and lukewarm sentiment. Four saloons operate in the county with voting from Randolph Cass Union Pike townships and two wet precincts. Community efforts included sunrise prayers, factory worker time off, and frequent church bell reminders.
Bids for postoffice supplies for the coming year were received at the post office yesterday and sent to Washington. The department will choose the lowest bidders and award the contracts.
Lucia Loiacono is released from marriage to Dominico after two years of separation with the suit filed in Logansport. Dominico left after one day of marriage and later avoided prosecution by marrying under pressure. James A. Gill of the countryside sues Alta M. Gill for divorce. they wed September 20, 1904, she deserted September 8, 1907, and he alleges night-time departures and cruelty.
Mr and Mrs Chappelow of rural route No 2 celebrated their golden wedding anniversary yesterday marking fifty years since their marriage. Severe weather kept them from hosting friends but many congratulatory messages were received.
Ensign E Lloyd McSheehy son of J H McSheehy of this city arrives home tomorrow after serving on the U S battleship Wisconsin. The ship recently circled the globe and has landed at Boston with crew granted vacation. McSheehy, a 1905 Annapolis graduate, has spent years at sea.
Harry Nicodemus held a big sale south of the eighteenth street bridge with a lively bidding crowd. The Reporter printed many sale notices posted around the county and Nicodemus reports good prices and satisfaction with the results.
Arthur Kennedy formerly of Delphi and general manager of Hillabee Gold Mining Company in Tallapoosa County Alabama was killed when a boat he rode in went off a dam. He was well known here.
