A morning sniff test at the high school revealed a strong odor from radiators coated with limburger cheese. Authorities suspect several suspended students carried out the prank for revenge after snowballing suspensions.
The Kokomo police board opened action against Will McGuire and Vanderbosch Vanderahe saloon proprietors for partitions blocking interior views after hours. Owners say they will not change unless court orders, claiming the obstructions are permanent furniture and costly to remove.
W. B Smith joins J. A. Reed in the implement business on Fifth Street. They lease the Douglass building at Fifth and Broadway to create large up to date stock of carriages, buggies, and harness. Reed runs the implement department while Smith heads the carriage and harness operation. The Douglass lease provides spacious showrooms.

Sarah E Artis sues Logansport & Wabash Valley Gas and Oliver Sargent for 10 000 over a gas leak and basement explosion that burned her and left facial disfigurement and loss of use of an arm. Preston Herd as next friend Wesley Herd sues C C L railroad for 6 000 after a pack truck crushed his legs while working as a section hand.
Walter Dillard returns from the Kokomo News report on Lon French Gordon family and others moving to Oklahoma. The group hopes for statehood alignment with Indiana Territory while facing prairie life challenges. A search party found Gordon and Lon French after night wanderings near Ponca, aided by electric lights. Lew Harness plans a night school to teach "follerin' the trail" to tender feet in the territory.
Longcliff hospital plans to import two to three dozen grey and fox squirrels from a Columbus Ohio supplier. Next meeting March 23 features tariff debate pitting Ludders Smith Dornblaser against Burkhart Berry Dann.
William T. Baker former Monroe township trustee and his bondsmen are defendants in a $10 000 suit for allegedly diverting township funds to personal use and for unauthorized payments. The state sues Baker and his sureties alongside Monroe township advisory board members J G Brannum William Cunningham William Bierly and current trustee William Thomas. Charges specify misused funds including Poor fund 500 township fund 2500 special school fund 500 tuition fund 500 dog fund 400 read fund 300 library fund 0 and additional read fund 70.
